About Media Technology
In the Media Technology master's programme we offer you a place where students, a rtists and scientists do research by creating innovative solutions, inspired by results and principles of science. To achieve this, the curriculum focuses on creative expl oration and on the understanding of science and technology. The programme encourages you to draw from the knowledge available throughout Leiden University and the Art Science programme of the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. After graduation, you are prepared for any future career involving creative and critical thinking, and in particular for a future in scientific research.

to stimulate innovation and creativity in scientific research by the innovative application of technology.
Curriculum and Overview
The Media Technology master's programme gives you the opportunity to broaden your horizon, develop new skills, expand and deepen your knowledge. The Media Technology programme comprises research training projects to a total of at least 50 EC, including creating an innovative concept and presenting it at an exhibition and the master thesis. You follow several compulsory courses (57 EC) and electives (13 EC).
Within the Media Technology curriculum a portion of the total credits can be obtained by following elective courses

academic year there are many electives available within different faculties and departments of Leiden University and the Inte
Science in The Hague. Students are also allowed to take electives in, for instance, Computer Science,
Psychology, Art History, Linguistics

Job and Career Prospects
Graduates are trained in scientific research methods, creative development of ideas and products , working as an individual and within a team. The working perspectives are various. Some of our students aim at a scientific career, and strive to be a PhD student in Leiden or elsewhere. Graduates can pursue a doctorate. Other students will work in the fields of IT, arts, product design or communication. Some of them will be performers, teachers or consultants, some will run their own companies.
